    Daytona USA
Daytona USA

Since its opening in July 1996, Daytona USA has celebrated the racing accomplishments of thousands of men and women who have competed in Daytona Beach since the early 1900s. Today Daytona USA continues in its mission in bringing the fans even closer to the action of racing. Daytona USA expanded in July 2004 with a 10,000-square foot addition that included Daytona Dream Laps, an IWERKS motion simulator ride, and Acceleration Alley, a state-of-the-art racing experience in which fans can drive the Daytona high banks for themselves in an 80% scale replica of a NASCAR NEXTEL Cup car. In 2003 a third motion simulator was added Toyota Tundra's Thunder Road, a two-seat simulator that delivers a fantasy ride with a 360-degree flip.

    Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse
Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse

The Ponce de Leon Inlet Light Station began as the Mosquito Inlet Lighthouse with the purchase of ten acres of land on 1883. The tower was completed 1886, and the kerosene lamp in the first-order fixed Fresnel lens was first lighted on November 1, 1887, by Principal Keeper William Rowlinski, the new light could be seen 20 miles to sea. The lighthouse remained in service until 1970 when a new light station was built on the south side of the inlet and the old lighthouse was badly vandalized. In 1972, the Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse Preservation Association was founded and the restoration process was begun culminating in 1998 when the Light Station was designated a National Historic Landmark. Visited by over 100,000 people each year the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse is the tallest lighthouse in Florida and one of the tallest in the nation. Visitors who climb the 175-foot-tall tower are treated to a magnificent view of the Florida coastline and Halifax River from Daytona Beach to New Smyrna Beach.
