Disney’s Magic Kingdom

Entering Magic Kingdom's Seven Happy Lands is an adventure in itself, either sailing across the picturesque Seven Seas Lagoon or hopping on the Disney monorail. Opening its gates on Oct. 1, 1971, Magic Kingdom has created smiles, laughter and fond memories for millions of guests ever since.

From the moment you enter Magic Kingdom you enter a storybook realm filled with Disney characters at every turn, classic attractions including Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion, and dazzling entertainment such as 'Cinderellabration', 'SpectroMagic', 'Share a Dream Come True' and 'Wishes'.

Main Street, USA is a celebration of Walt Disney’s childhood memories in Marceline, Mo. This loving recreation of an early 20th century American thoroughfare comes complete with vintage barbershop and horse-drawn trolley. Main Street is also one of the stops for the vintage steam engine on the Walt Disney World Railroad - the other stops are in Frontierland and Mickey’s Toontown Fair.

Be sure to go into the Harmony Barber Shop - with its hair tonics and talcum powders that line the dark burgundy shelves, you’ll feel like you have stepped back in time. A turn-of-the-century Western Electric phone box is still used to make phone calls, while the cash register the barbers use to ring up their sales dates from 1912. Harmony Barber Shop performs between 350 and 400 services a week with their specialty being 'First Haircuts' for the younger guests. The Dapper Dans barbershop quartet strolls by daily, singing melodious tunes in perfect harmony and entertaining guests with their humorous banter.

Adventureland is home to the newly refurbished Pirates of the Caribbean - a rollicking buccaneer boat ride, now with the added attractions of Captain Jack Sparrow and his nemesis, Barbossa. With characters from the film and updated special effects this is one attraction you don’t want to miss. The Jungle Cruise is a tongue-in-cheek trek down the world's most famous rivers, while the Swiss Family Robinson’s Treehouse will bring out your inner child as you clamber around the giant tree.

Travel back in time to the Wild West as you visit a prairie outpost where cowboys and miners roam.
Frontierland is where you can catch the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad - a runaway mine train that takes you on a ride through towering mesas and an unstable mine. Music, special effects and animated creatures come together at Splash Mountain as you join Brer Rabbit in a zip-a-dee-doo-dah log ride to the Briar Patch. For a quieter time why not raft across the rivers of America to Tom Sawyer’s Island to explore the trails, caves and fort in this children’s adventure playground, or chill out at the Country Bear Jamboree - a raucous revue of singing bears.

Step back to the age of colonial America in this land honoring the country's early heritage at Liberty Square. Home to Disney’s famous Haunted Mansion, where you ride through a spooky 19th Century mansion encountering grim ghouls and ghosts along the way. Check your car carefully at the end of the ride just to make sure no-one’s sneaking home with you. Disney’s animatronics bring the nation’s Presidents to life in the Hall of Presidents - a celebration of United States' chief executives and the struggles that built America. Join Mark Twain aboard the Liberty Belle Riverboat as you cruise the Rivers of America - the ideal way to cool down on those hot steamy afternoons.

Dominated by the fairytale, Cinderella’s Castle Fantasyland is a child’s paradise. Children from around the world serenade you on the magical indoor boat ride - 'It’s A Small World'. Join Winnie the Pooh on a honey pot journey through the Hundred Acre Wood in the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. Stop by Mickey’s Philharmagic - a spectacular 3-D musical movie extravaganza featuring Donald and Mickey. Cinderella's Golden Carrousel is a beautifully preserved merry-go-round of mighty steeds and will thrill younger guests as they chase each other round and round.

Come see where Mickey, Minnie and the gang live in the quaint country neighborhood. Mickey's Toontown Fair is aimed at the younger guests with rides such as The Barnstormer, where you jump aboard crop dusters following Goofy as he sprays the crops in Goofy’s Wiseacre Farm. Mickey's Country House - a walk-through tour of the famous mouse's house where guests have an opportunity to meet Mickey privately.

Tomorrowland is the final stop on the journey through the Magic Kingdom. Space Mountain is a thrilling indoor rollercoaster ride in the dark, which takes you rocketing through space against backdrops of asteroids and other celestial bodies. Go to infinity and beyond with Buzz Lightyear’s Space Rangers - a fast-paced, highly addictive ride through Buzz’s world where you battle against Evil Emperor Zurg. In Stitch’s Great Escape you are tasked with keeping an eye on the naughty alien of 'Lilo & Stitch', as he is being transported to a Prison Processing Center. He escapes and chaos ensues!

No day at Magic Kingdom would be complete without seeing the parades and spectacular firework display.

Share a Dream Come True Parade
Taking place at approximately 3pm each day, this 15 minute parade features eight floats that carry large individually themed snow globes. Set to music performed by the London Symphony and Royal Philharmonic Orchestras the parade travels through Frontierland before turning down Main Street USA.
