Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament

Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament in Kissimmee, Florida is more than the nation’s #1 and longest running dinner attraction – it’s a living link to the past where the glory, chivalry and valor of old burst to life in authentic pageantry and thrilling tournament action. The spectacle unfolds nightly inside a fully enclosed, climate controlled European-style castle.

The journey back to the 11th century begins as visitors are greeted by King Alfonso and his daughter, Princess Esperanza. Guests receive a colored crown corresponding to their seating area and the Knight they will cheer throughout the show. The story begins with the battle-weary King and his stalwart Marshals and Knights returning to the Castle after a fierce clash with an invading army. The attackers have been defeated, but the King’s brother paid for the victory with his life. The King calls for a grand tournament to determine the realm’s new champion.

The Master of Ceremonies soon orders the Trumpeters of the Realm to announce the opening of the Grand Ceremonial Arena. Guests proceed to their color-coded pavilion and once inside guests will enjoy a hearty banquet medieval style, without silverware, served by serfs and wenches. As the medieval banquet is served up to hungry guests, the brave Knights, astride magnificent Andalusian stallions, spar in tournament games, authentic jousting matches and sword fighting.

While the show has all the lance-splintering action and glorious pageantry guests look forward to, you will also find a romance -- a Princess’s love for a handsome, gallant knight – and a riveting confrontation between a turncoat warrior and a surprise defender of the crown.

An exquisite coal-black Friesian stallion, with bloodlines traced back to Northern Europe in 500 A.D., is a dramatic contrast to the snowy Andalusian stallions ridden by most of the characters performing nightly in the 1,129 seat arena. The breed was valued by Knights for its ability to carry great weight while maintaining agility and quickness in battle.

When the last game of skill has been won, Squires prepare the Grand Ceremonial Arena for the joust. As trumpets sound, Knights in full armor charge at each other brandishing 10-foot lances, intent on unseating their opponents. Once unhorsed, the Knights continue their battles on foot employing all the authentic weaponry of the medieval era - the sword, axe, mace and bola - in their quest for victory. In a shower of sparks, the cacophony of metal against metal and the deadly glint of whirling bola, all contenders eventually fall until only one brave Knight is left sanding to claim the title of New Champion.

Highlights of the dramatic show include an original music score recorded by the world-renowned Prague Symphony Orchestra, exquisite period costuming and spectacular special events.

After a legendary show, the adventure continues for guests who visit The Knight Club. With full bar service, lively music and a dance floor, it's the place where Knights and Royalty greet guests, sign autographs and pose for pictures. Authentic suits of armor, exquisitely detailed etched swords and shields and medieval murals and banners line the walls.
