MOUTH WATERING MENUS…
Today, Miami is a melting-pot of cultures - the greatest influence being that of the Cuban refugees who first settled in the 1960s in an area known as Little Havana.
In Little Havana you will find mouth watering Cuban and Caribbean cuisine and a never to be forgotten Miami experience - Floribbean cooking - a combination of Florida and island influences which will knock you out!

VIBRANT ARTS CULTURE AND STUNNING ARCHITECTURE…
Miami Beach became popular during the 1920s and it is now home to a vibrant arts scene, especially in the stylish South Beach area - better known as SoBe. South Beach is the place to go if you want a taste of Miami’s famous nightlife - here you are spoilt for choice amongst the numerous bars, night clubs and restaurants. The Art Deco Historic District in South Beach has stunning examples of 1920s and 30s architecture, built for the vacationers of that era. There was a period when the area fell into decline and the buildings became somewhat neglected. However, major renovation work in recent years means that, once again, this is the place to be seen. To find out more about the history of this area and to arrange a tour, go to The Art Deco Welcome Center.

LEARN ABOUT MIAMI’S HISTORY AND CULTURE…
Continuing along the historical theme, the Miami art Museum holds world class exhibitions and has a growing collection of 20th and 21st century art. If you want to learn more about the history and culture of South Florida and the Caribbean, The Historical Museum of Southern Florida is a ’must’ with several new exhibitions each year as well as a permanent gallery. The Deering Estate in Cutler is full of historic and archaeological interest - the remains of pre-historic animals are a popular attraction. You can also reserve a weekend canoe tour here.

A UNIQUE SWIMMING POOL…
One of the most fascinating attractions has to be the Venetian Pool, situated in the elegant Coral Gables area. Here, in 1923, local designer, Denman Fink, created a stunningly beautiful swimming pool complete with a manmade island, canals and coral caves, from what was originally a rock quarry. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places but please take note - children aged 3 and under are not permitted.

TROPICAL BIRDS AND GIANT REPTILES…
All tastes and age groups will find something of interest in Miami. One of Florida’s first marine attractions - the Seaquarium - can be found on Key Biscayne, where there are also numerous marinas and golden beaches. Miami Metrozoo in South Dade is the only American zoo set in a sub tropical climate and another animal attraction is Parrot Jungle Island, situated off MacArthur Causeway. Here, you will see not only the tropical bird population of over 1000 - including macaws and parrots - which have the run of the island, but also primates and giant reptiles.

DON’T FORGET THE SHOPPING…!
Shopping is of course a major activity in Miami - upscale clothing boutiques, exotic flea markets or factory outlets - they are all here! Dadeland is Miami’s oldest Mall and here you will find Florida’s oldest Macy’s along with Sak’s Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, JC Penney and many more. Dolphin Mall in West Dade has some 200 outlets to choose from and Bal Harbor Village - a barrier island at the north tip of Miami Beach - has a square mile of flagship stores similar to those found on Rodeo Drive, which together with its restaurants, hotels and spas make it a destination for the ultimate experience in self indulgence!
