DirectTV Speedweeks
Daytona
In the early weeks of February Daytona International Speedway plays host to DirectTV's Speedweeks. A collection of races starting with the Rolex 24 at Daytona, a 24-hour sports car endurance race and culminating with "The Great American Race" the NASCAR Daytona 500. Other races run during this time include the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200, Budweiser Shootout, Daytona 500 Qualifying, Gatorade Duel, NextEra Energy Recourses 250 and the Camping World 300. During Speedweeks the neighboring tracks of New Smyrna and Volusia County also hold a number of special events, this is a must for all those petrol heads out there.

Olustee Battle Festival
Lake City
On Febuary 20th 1864 Union Brigadier General Truman Seymour led 5,500 troops towards Olustee Station where General Finegan had 5,000 confederate troops entrenched. What followed was the third bloodiest battle in the War of the Union, and the largest Civil War battle to be fought in the State of Florida. Today hundreds of historical reenactment enthusiasts come from miles around to take part in a reenactment of the Battle of Olustee, this along with talks, lectures, battlefield tours and music from the time make history come alive. Other events include a Civil War Parade, One Mile Fun Run, Civil war Memorial Service and an Arts, Crafts and collectables fair.

The Florida Strawberry Festival is a genuine peace of Americana, and ranks as one of the Top 50 fairs in the country. The festival harks back to days gone-by when life was simpler and communities pulled together to celebrate the harvests. Silver Spurs Rodeo

The Silver Spurs Rodeo can trace its history back to its humble beginnings in 1941 when a number of ranchers from Osceola County rode at the inauguration of Governor Spessaed Holland in Tallahassee. They continued to meet and share their love of riding and on 4th of July 1950 they held the first full rodeo in their new home along Highway 193 in Kissimmee. The rodeo will thrill and amaze people of all ages, with several events such as the well known Bareback Bronc and Bull Riding to the less well known Barrel Racing.
